The station was opened in 1877 and connected the people of the dales, it was a key part of the farming industry.
The tracks of the station were taken up in 1964, the great steam railways began to belong to another era and represent so much in current British history.

Graham was key to founding the group, he is passionate about the area. Keen to start a social history museum and teaching the importance of the history of the railways to another generation.
Traditional crafts are used to add details to the site.

Tommy is a engineer and one of the volunteers working to restore the site
The site provides an understanding of how important the railways of the past were, and how much an integral part they played in our past.
Hand crafted objects remind us of times when a throw away culture wasn't the norm.
